Benny Glaser from Southampton, UK has extended his record for the most Championship of Online Poker (COOP) titles after achieving yet another victory at the ongoing WCOOP series on PokerStars.
The highly-accomplished poker pro moved to Canada to take part in the 2023 WCOOP.
Glaser Stays as the COOP King
Glaser quickly made waves from the get-go with an initial four final table finishes. He finished runner-up in the WCOOP 05-H: $1,050 PLO 6-Max on the first day of the series for $26,157 and then earned $4,975 for his 5th-place finish in the WCOOP 10-H: $2,100 H.O.R.S.E.
The poker pro went on to claim the 6th spot in the WCOOP 14-H: $1,050 5-Card PLO8 6-Max for $7,397 and then came close to victory once again in the WCOOP 16-H: $1,050 FL Badugi 6-Max where he finished 2nd for $10,418.
We all know what Glaser can do when it comes to COOP events. He doesn’t want to end his campaign without a win. After a few days of grinding, he finished on top of a 178-entry field in the WCOOP 16-M: $109 FL Badugi 6-Max, walking away with $3,550 in top prize. That represents Glaser’s ninth WCOOP title, which means he now has 19 COOP titles in total (the other 10 he won in SCOOP), extending his own record for most COOP wins.
Glaser has been racking up WCOOP titles over the last five years, securing his first WCOOP victory in 2018 in the WCOOP 27-L: $55 PLO 6-Max for $23,807. He won one title each in 2019, 2020, and 2021 and then took home four in 2022 alone in what would become one the biggest years of his WCOOP career. It’s safe to say Glaser will win more WCOOP events this year given his previous performances.
The WCOOP continues on PokerStars, with players competing for $80 million in total guarantees. The series comes to an end on Oct 4.
